THE VENUE

Amansala Resort resides on a beautiful beach in Tulum, Mexico. Set between the pristine blue ocean and the emerald green tropical forests and jungles, one can enjoy nature in all of its splendor. The venue offers relaxed eco chic accommodation like no other boutique hotel in Tulum. Rooms are spacious with attention to detail throughout. The restaurant serves fresh fish, local produce and the tastiest mango margaritas in the Riviera Maya. If you are looking for a getaway filled with amazing classes, delicious food, fun activities, and relaxation on the beach, look no further. During the day you can relax on the beach after your Pilates class, take a walk along the jungle side for shopping or take bike ride to ancient Mayan ruins.

Samantha Gipson

Cultivate Retreats owner, Pilates instructor, travel enthusiast, spa junkie, spiritual seeker, toddler mom

Samantha’s created Cultivate Retreats as a true manifestation of her passion to live a fulfilled life by means of health, community, fun, and balance. Samantha has been a fitness teacher since 2015 sharing not only her expertise on pilates, strength-training, and mobility but her wisdom on body-positivity and self-love through movement and nourishment.

Samantha has always loved meeting new people and bringing like minded people together to learn and grow from each other, retreats are a place to give people a space to create and cultivate whatever experience they are craving. 

Samantha loves creating the space to have all the fun, active, relaxing, and self care options for her clients and then giving them the options to pick and choose whatever you would like to participate in to cultivate the experience that you came on the retreat for.

Something beautiful happens during these retreats where it creates this container of like minded people to really connect with each other, but also to have this space to connect with themselves.

Sarah Gevinski

Studio owner, Mom of 3, music lover, always up for an adventure

Sarah is the owner of Club Pilates Mount Kisco, Park Slope, and Fairfield, with others on the way. She's a mother of three with a diverse work background that has nothing to do with Pilates...until she tried it for fun in 2006 and fell in love.

A dancer for nearly 20 years, Sarah loved movement but was never inspired by group classes and avoided them at all costs. There was never anything that she wanted to commit to, until she found Pilates.

She found the natural and effective nature of the workout enticing and the results spoke for themselves. As she got older and had her kids, she loved how Pilates healed her general aches and pains.

After being a student for 10+ years, she decided to open her first Club Pilates studio, and it was there that she became certified. She continues to practice daily (challenging herself to 5 classes per week), but equally loves teaching. The energy and joy she gets from
teaching is like no other.  She loves to challenge, help, and supportall of her clients all while seeing them grow and get stronger with every class.

I loved everything about the Cultivate Pilates retreat in Tulum, MX. Literally everything. The entire experience delivered on mind, body and community connection.  The Pilates classes by both Samantha and Sarah were the BEST with lots of options and variations for ALL levels. I knew Samantha well and love her teaching-style and after meeting Sarah at the retreat, I can understand why they partner together.  While they have their own styles and each bring something different to classes, they both keep it light and fun (but still very challenging if you want it!) The food was fresh, delicious, varied and absolute perfection.  The resort, Pilates “studio” space, and activities were all amazing. At first, I was a little apprehensive about going without knowing anyone well except for Samantha.  Everyone I met at the retreat was truly kind, supportive, respectful and fun.  While the schedule was well planned, guests could “dip-in-and-out” as they pleased based on what they wanted to get out of the experience- there was no judgement at all from anyone. I left with my heart completely full and with renewed energy and focus.  I signed up for the ’25 retreat the second I received the email and wouldn’t miss it for the world.

I thought the workouts were awesome! The Pilates mat class was both challenging and strenuous, but I felt it was approachable to all fitness levels. Very much an open level with modifications and also ways to make the moves more advanced. I would give it a 10.

“Workouts 10. I loved the use of all the props, the balance between posterior and anterior movement patterns, incorporating rests at appropriate times. Samantha’s attention to bringing balance to all the workouts she programmed plus the different classes worked really well and showed how thoughtful she was with programming.

Food 10. I have had stomach issues in the past and sometimes get nervous eating out or food cooked by others, I was pleasantly surprised how good I felt after each meal. It was great to get through the weekend and realize that I didn't eat any bread or other heavy carbs but I never felt hungry nor did I feel that I needed to snack between meals.

I think Samantha & Lindsay did a really good job of offering different activities to suit different tastes. I really enjoyed spending time with everyone while we were working on our looms as well as the cooking class, these would be my two favorite. You had an amazing group of ladies and I throughly enjoyed my time with all of them.

I truly hope I get to participate in another of Cultivate’s fantastic retreats!”
